Life in a Shoe!

Life in a Shoe!

“There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe”.

"There was an Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe" is a popular English language nursery rhyme, with a Roud Folk Song Index number of 19132. Debates over its meaning and origin have largely centered on attempts to match the old woman with historical female figures who have had large families, although King George II (1683–1760) has also been proposed as the rhyme's subject.

This is an old English nursery rhyme that has several lines of lyrics.  Here is the most common version:

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.

She had so many children, she didn't know what to do.

She gave them some broth without any bread;

Then whipped them all soundly and put them to bed.

I do not like that one for "our purposes".  But the following version fits in our study for "Today":

There was an old woman Who lived in a shoe,

She had so many children, And loved them all, too.

She said, "Thank you Lord Jesus, For sending them bread."

Then kissed them all gladly and sent them to bed.

If you have been following my posts, you know Father-God "dwells in us and walks in us" and men are His soul/souls of His feet or “HIS SHOES”.  We can look at the rhyme in a more realistic light too:

There is on "Old Dad" (Ancient of Days, Daniel 2:9) who lives in many shoes!

He has so many children and makes them pay dues!

He put them with demon-prisoners in the bottomless pit

To see how far each child can get.  (To make it rhyme better you can use “git” rather than get)!

The Old man was not alone.  He sent His Wife down to help Him too.  Now we get to the verse I selected about Mother Wisdom.  As you know our Father has a sense of humor and this is one way He teased Mother Wisdom.

Look at this:

Secrets of Enoch 30:11 .. and I placed him on earth, a second angel, honourable, great 12 and glorious, and I appointed him as ruler to rule on earth and TO HAVE MY WISDOM, and there was none like him of earth of all my existing creatures. 13 And I appointed him a name, from the four component parts, from east, from west, from south, 14, 15 from north, and I appointed for him four special stars, and I called his name Adam,

Book of Enoch 43:42 1 Wisdom found no place where she might dwell; Then a dwelling-place was assigned her in the heavens. 2 Wisdom went forth to make her dwelling among the children of men, And found no dwelling-place: Wisdom returned to her place, And took her seat among the angels. 3 And unrighteousness went forth from her chambers: Whom she sought not she found, And dwelt with them, As rain in a desert And dew on a thirsty land.

As you can see, demonic convicts in prison give Mother and Her children a hard time.  So She went back where She is loved and respected.  But the older and “perfected children” do not escape “shoe duty”.  The “Old Man” used their help too.

Psalms 91:2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Every human born on Earth has "guardians" assigned to him as he wrestles demonic prisoners confined to the pit of hell.  Be mindful that Father is a "SCIENTIST" and He needs to know the strengths and weaknesses of each child He plants down here.  Devils MAR MEN wearing "clay-suits" (in human bodies).  That is how He obtains the information needed for each child planted down here.

Mother is not a shrinking violet who runs away when the going gets tough.  She sent Her daughters to help the cause just as Father sent His sons.

Proverbs 8:1 Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. 5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

Proverbs 9:1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: 2 She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. 3 She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city, 4 Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, 5 Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. 6 Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

So you see, raising so many children in a shoe (They are God's shoes, I might add), is a tough proposition.  So the whole Family has a part to play while the shoes exist in man’s sojourn with devils in the pit of hell.

Watching over men as they battle devils is not a wonderful task.  Captive men agree with their captors and devils are able to use men against men, and also against our Father.  The apostles and prophets have always cautioned us not to follow evil impulses, because devils intend to harm us in some way.  There are “guardians” assigned to protect us as well as Jurist-Witnesses WATCHING the Court floor of planet Earth where all the action takes place.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Here is what we put our brethren above through, who are assigned to each child below:

III Baruch 8:1 And he took me and led me towards the west; and when the time of the setting came, I saw again the bird coming before it, and as soon as he came I saw the angels, and they lifted the crown 2, 3 from its head. But the bird stood exhausted and with wings contracted. And beholding these things, I said, Lord, wherefore did they lift the crown from the head of the sun, and wherefore is 4 the bird so exhausted? And the angel said to me, The crown of the sun, when it has run through the day four angels take it, and bear it up to heaven, and renew it, because it and its rays have been defiled upon earth; moreover it is so renewed each day. And I Baruch said, Lord, and wherefore 5 are its beams defiled upon earth? And the angel said to me, Because it beholds the lawlessness and unrighteousness of men, namely fornications, adulteries, thefts, extortions, idolatries, drunkenness, murders, strife, jealousies, evil-speakings, murmurings, whisperings, divinations, and such like, which are not well-pleasing to God. On account of these things is it defiled, and therefore is it renewed. 6 But thou askest concerning the bird, how it is exhausted. Because by restraining the rays of the 7 sun through the fire and burning heat of the whole day, it is exhausted thereby. For, as we said before, unless his wings were screening the rays of the sun, no living, creature would be preserved.

Sometimes our behavior is so horrible and disgusting that angels assigned to us have asked to be relieved from doing so.  That is why we were told to

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

If angels abandon us to the tender mercies of devils, all hell will break loose.  Angels have asked to be dismissed from attending to the worst cases of demonically possessed men, but Commander Michael said:

III Baruch 13 1 And then came in like manner other angels weeping and bewailing, and saying with fear, Behold how we are overclouded, O Lord, for we were delivered to evil men, and we wish to depart from 2 them. And Michael said, Ye cannot depart from them, in order that .the enemy may not prevail to 3 the end; but say to me what ye ask. And they said, We pray thee, Michael our commander, transfer us from them, for we cannot abide with wicked and foolish men, for there is nothing good 4 in them, but every kind of unrighteousness and greed. For we do not behold them entering [into Church at all, nor among spiritual fathers, nor into any good work. But where there is murder,] there also are they in the midst, and where are fornications, adulteries, thefts, slanders, perjuries, jealousies, drunkenness, strife, envy, murmurings, whispering, idolatry, divination, and such like, 5 then are they workers of such works, and of others worse. Wherefore we entreat that we may depart from them. And Michael said to the angels, Wait till I learn from the Lord what shall come to pass.

III Baruch 16:1 And turning he said also to those who brought nothing: (no good reports about those they are assigned to watch) Thus saith the Lord, Be not sad of a 2 countenance, and weep not, nor let the sons of men alone. But since they angered me in their works, go and make them envious and angry and provoked against a people that is no people, a 3 people that has no understanding. Further, besides these, send forth the caterpillar and the unwinged locust, and the mildew, and the common locust (and) hail with lightnings and anger, and 4 punish them severely with the sword and with death, and their children with demons. For they did not hearken to my voice, nor did they observe my commandments, nor do them, but were despisers of my commandments, and insolent towards the priests who proclaimed my words to them.

Now you do not have to wonder why some men cannot seem to free themselves from evil.  They are totally overcome by invisible devils to do evil works.  But devils are not allowed to prevail over all men in this way.  Father sent His son with a Word of command to show devils who is “Boss”!

Luke 8:27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. 29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) 30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. 31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. 32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. 33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

Most men RISE at the end of their time in the pit of hell with devils as “prodigal sons”.  It is no big deal, because the Potter has the information He needs to make the necessary corrections to RE-MAKE them into perfect children.  So everyone in Heaven gets his turn at “SHOE DUTY”, not just Father and Mother Wisdom.  Here is what each child is treated to when he RISES:

Luke 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. 21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. 22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. 32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

All is well that ends well for the “Family that lived in a shoe”.
