 Lot and His Wife

 

Genesis 19:15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city. 16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city. 17 And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. 18 And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord: 19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: 20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. 21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. 22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. 23 The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. 24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. 26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

 

Revelation 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

 

This is a reference to  planet, Earth. “Lot” is a reference to the children of God, namely, all of mankind. Acts 17:24-28.  When God came to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah He also planned to remove Lot and his family out of the city and preserve their life.  However Lot had made himself comfortable, and made his living among the people.  So when the angels came to him and told him of God’s plan, Lot was reluctant to leave.  This has an application for mankind today.  All men know about is planet Earth even though it is a prison camp of devils men cannot see.  Some have said of death, “I want to stay here as long as I can” while knowing God plans to destroy planet Earth.  We have heard about the Heavenly City of Zion, the Paradise of God,  But men are reluctant to  take the required step to get there.  We all feel comfortable in our own skin and we are afraid of dying even though we know God will burn the planet to nothing.  So reluctant to leave was Lot and his family that the angels had to grab them by the hand and lead them out of the city.  When they came to a place outside the city, the angels told them to flee to the mountains.  Lot was a lazy coward.  He was thinking about how tough it would be for him to start over again making a comfortable home for himself.  In a city there are more conveniences readily available for a comfortable life.  So this nut begged the angels to let him stay “in a small city” nearby.  God acceded to this request, but the angels cautioned them, “Don’t look back” at the destruction happening to Sodom.  I am writing this because there is a GREAT LESSON in it for us.

 

Some of us including me think it will be a wonderful thing to see God get revenge upon our enemies, the kingdom of devils.  Lot’s wife turned around and looked back.  She immediately turned into a pillar of salt, but the others made it to safety alive and well.  Now how does this apply to our very moment now?  I have told you that this is the END of TIME!  In the END Father-God will remove all life-forms having the “spirit of life” from planet Earth, so He can destroy it.  All men, bird, fish and creeping things must be taken away, so that only the kingdom of devils, Lucifer, Babylon and their demons remain falling in circles.  At the designated moment, Father will “visit the iniquity of the fathers upon the children of them that hate Him”.  There will be a great lake of fire that will burn the place of graves to absolutely nothing.  I see what the angels told lot and his family.  Is there an application in this to me, since I happily look forward to the destruction of the kingdom of devils, namely, spiritual Sodom?  There are also other scriptures written:

 

Psalms 91:8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

 

Isaiah 41:12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

 

Psalms 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not

 

These scriptures tell me that when He finally allows us to look down at what has happened, it will all be over, and He will have rearranged space and the Milky Way Galaxy where planet Earth once existed.  We will not recognize the “place” where Earth used to be.
