The Lamb of God
HEADLINE:
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Psalms 40:6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. 7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, 8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. 9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. 10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
In the Atonement, the priests would take a lamb and burn it for a sacrifice to God for the sins of the people. The blood of the lamb would also be sprinkled about the Altar during this ceremony. You see what Jesus said in the Psalm text. A flesh and blood animal sacrifice is not what Father really wanted. Here we see the reverse of what Abraham was about to do to Isaac. Isaac asked Abraham. “Where is the sacrifice”? Abraham did not want to tell Isaac that he was the sacrifice. So he told him, “God will provide the sacrifice”! Of course he was right. We see that Father chose His firstborn Son and asked him to become His Lamb for the removal of human sins and the redemption of mankind. You see how Jesus responded to the Father, while knowing well what it meant for him in advance. He said, “I delight to do thy will”! I have to bow before the Lamb of God today, because I do not know anyone who would voluntarily “delight” to go down to the pit of hell to let demons and ignorant men brutalize and slay him. Kudos to Jesus, for being a better man than most men are. All praises to our Father for selecting the best Son for this task.
Why are we doing this now? Not so long ago when I thought I could READ the Word of God, the Spirit made critical comments about my reading skill. I was told, “You lack sufficient depth perception as you read”. That means I was missing out on light that was within my purview. I have eyes, but I miss things right within my field of vision, because I do not see it. That was enough to bring me back down to Earth. Self-flattery is not for any of God’s students. With any starch now removed from my collar, I became a wrinkled bundle of a shirt. Today having learned a personal lesson, let’s look at the word, “lamb” and ascertain the message found in that word. “LAMB” = L / AM / B. Yes, people! The Word of God is so complex and “SEALED” that just one word can carry a full message.
L is Father’s name spelled, “El”!
AM is also Father’s name that He told Moses to tell those who might ask the name of his leader/teacher.
Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he
said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of
B means to live or to exist as the “Living One”
Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. 40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
Shakespeare (Hamlet) wrote a line related to this subject. He wrote, “To be or not to be, that is the question”!
Let’s put it all together and see what we see! “L- El, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (AM) is (B) the Living One”.
A question was asked in the scriptures, “Is there any BALM in
Jeremiah 8:22 Is there no balm in
Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
The wise men had found much more than a cure for ailments. They had found the cure for what ails the whole world.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
He was to take the BLAM(E) for all of our sins as Father’s ATONEMENT sacrifice. Here is how Isaiah called it:
Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
I said the Spirit criticised my READING skills. Sure enough the critique was right. After I shared "the Lamb of God", the Spirit showed me what I missed and left out. Here it is because I don't want you to leave it out of the message. Just add it to the original document.
B- ALM
Matthew 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
"Alms are gifts" that the Jews gave to the poor and needy, and some deemed it tio be a "work" of righteousness to show off to others.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
And Jesus said it himself:
John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
I see all of those messages in the word, “lamb”, in the spiritual sense of the Word of God. And Jesus confirmed this finding in his message to the Jews.
John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
No man can know anything unless Father wants him to know it. After all “He” is the “Light Giver”!
John 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26 Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Daniel 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Isaiah 29:9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. 10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. 11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Isaiah 29:17 Is it not yet a very little while, and
Revelation 5:2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Isaiah 29:20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: 21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought. 22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale. 23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel. 24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
Isaiah 42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
Isaiah 40:9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up
into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy
voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of
Psalms 110:3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
II Esdras 2:38 Rise, stand up, and see the whole company of
those who bear the 39 Lord's mark and sit at his table. They have moved out of
the shadow of this 40 world and have received shining robes from the Lord.
Receive, O Zion your full number, and close the roll of those arrayed in white
who have 41 faithfully kept the law of the Lord. The number of your sons whom
you so long desired is now complete. Pray that the Lord's kingdom may come, so
that your people, whom he summoned when the world began, may be set apart as
his own.' 42 I, Ezra, saw on
Romans 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Now I think I shall get out of the way and let real singers tell you about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CK1R1suY6U
